На подходе начало сезона 2014 года по ловле лосося в близлежащих реках. Поэтому открываем новую тему по ловле лосося на Ваймаке.

Первая информация поступила сегодня 24 января из North Canterbury Fish and Game:

"Salmon anglers will be out in force this weekend. There are a few salmon being caught in all of our main rivers now with the Waimakariri producing the best results so far. This is unusual for the Waimak as it is known as a late season salmon river. Reports of up to 8 a day are being caught in the lower reaches. There have also been some good catches by a lucky few upstream. The Huruinui River is starting to produce now with a few fish being caught at the mouth this week. The Rakaia river has been slow this season, however in the last few days a few Salmon have appeared. Conditions permitting, all of these rivers are worth a go this weekend.

A tip for those anglers intending to fish the rocky tidal areas of the lower Waimak! If you have not already got a suitable Salmon landing net, it would be a wise investment to get one! An unlucky angler down there today lost two salmon trying to squeeze them into a trout landing net. They did not fit, and both shook the hook on him whilst trying."

Tight Lines All for the weekend.
